At a time when we are all locked down, working from home and doing all of our odd jobs around the house, there is still one business in Wells that is keeping the key workers of Wells and the surrounding towns and villages in high spirits.
Georgie Robbins from Daniels Café & Sandwich Bar in Wells thought local key workers could do with a little help during the crisis and has been surprising many with complimentary sandwiches for breakfast. “So far we have delivered to West Mendip Hospital, Shepton Mallet Hospital, Glastonbury Ambulance Station, Wells Bus Depot, Wells Sorting Office, Boots and Tesco Pharmacy in Wells, Heads Up Charity in Wells, YMCA/Spencer House, The Glastonbury Surgery and all of the units at Priory Health Park (if we’ve missed one then get in touch). We have delivered to others too, but too many to list off of the top of my head!”.
When asked why she was doing this, Georgie answered with, “I couldn’t do their job so want to help any way I can”.
Georgie also said that she had delivered breakfasts to NHS staff around Wells too and that she will continue to deliver to businesses in the area, “for as long as we can”.
Georgie has been funding this herself through her business and with donations sent to her via her PayPal link. She adds, “We aren’t asking for donations but if people want to contribute, it would be gratefully received.”.
